Shin Mina takes the female lead in My Girlfriend Is a Nine-Tailed Fox

The new SBS series My Girlfriend Is a Nine-Tailed Fox, which is well known as a new project of the hit maker Hong Sisters (writers Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran) and Lee Seung Ki, officially confirmed that Shin Mina has been chosen to play a female lead.

The series will premier in August and starts filming next month.

This will be Shin’s first series in three years after the KBS series Devil in 2007. Shin is widely thought of as an innocent but glamorous celebrity and has recently starred in a number of commercials.

My Girlfriend Is a Nine-Tailed Fox is a romance between a legendary nine-tailed fox (played by Shin Mina) who has been asleep for the past 500 years and is released when a seal is broken, and a human (played by Lee Seung Ki). The production company says, “We have reinterpreted the classical nine-tailed fox image in a totally new way in this drama series. With this unique concept, we decided that Shin Mina is the perfect actress to play the title role, and have been in contact with her about it for quite a while.”

In this revamped story of the nine-tailed fox, Shin Mina will render the character with a lovely, mystical charm rather than the usual scary image.
