Original version of “Housemaid” to be re-released
The film's remake of the same title, directed by Im Sang-soo and starring Cannes winner Jeon Do-youn, is one of two South Korean movies in official competition at the Cannes Film Festival. The other is Lee Chang-dong's "Poetry."
Mirovision said Kim Ki-young's monumental film will be released in five theaters in Seoul starting June 3, marking the 50th anniversary of his birth. Kim died in a fire accident in 1998.
