Kara to release first Japanese debut single

Korean girl group Kara will be releasing their debut single album in Japan next month, according to their agency DSP Media on Friday.

A press release from DSP announced that "Mister," from the girls' second full-length album in Korea, will go on sale in Japan on August 11 as their first single.

DSP also explained that a 30-second teaser video of the Japanese version of the song was unveiled on the group's official Japanese webpage (www.universal-music.co.jp/kara/) and YouTube.

Just two months ago, Kara was in Japan to attend an event attended by some 8,000 fans as well as to celebrate the launch of their official Japanese fan club.

They will be visiting the country again at the end of July to begin promoting their single through an appearance on a popular cable show. The girl band also plans on holding a live concert and hand-shaking event at Japan's Studio Coast three days after the album's release.

Kara, composed of members Han Seung-yeon, Nicole, Kang Ji-young, Park Gyu-lee and Gu Hara, made their debut in 2007 and have released several singles and albums which include their hit songs "Pretty Girl" and "Mister.”

Most recently, they had promoted their third mini-album in Korea, containing title track "Lupin" which conquered numerous online and offline music charts.

Kara's career in Japan is being managed by major record label Universal Music Sigma, a branch of Universal Music Group,
