Goong musical to be released as a DVD
more in: Featured, Korean Drama, Korean EntertainmentSince September 8th of this year, TVXQ’s Yunho has participated in the musical “Goong” as the Crown Prince of Korea, Lee Shin. The musical version of Goong was adapted from the original series that enjoyed massive popularity.
The original drama aired on TV in 2006, adapting from the popular comic series. The series had recorded viewership ratings in the high 30% marks, was sold to 23 countries and made the main actor, Joo Ji-hoon, and main actress, Yoon Eun-hye, household names in Korea.

The musical will end its run in Korea by the end of the year after having started on September 8th. It remained in Seoul until October 24th before moving onto other provinces around Korea. After completing its run in the country, it will move onto other Asian countries. According to PR official Park Rae-hyun of Group 8, the producers of the musical, the musical will move onto Japan in January 2011.
Seemingly in preparation for that, the musical’s DVD has been set to release on January 19, 2011. It will consist of 1 disc and runs for 70 minutes. The language will be in Korean with Japanese subtitles.
